The official currency of South Korea is the Korean won (KRW). While major credit cards and US dollars are widely accepted at most tourist destinations, having local currency on hand is recommended.

Tipping is not customary in Korea. Additionally, the standard Value Added Tax (VAT) rate of 10% is typically included in the total bill.

Banks are open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Government office hours are usually from 9:00 am to 06:00 pm on weekdays and closed on weekends.

The Republic of Korea experiences four distinct seasons. Busan, located on the southeastern tip of the peninsula, enjoys a cooler, humid subtropical climate. Extreme temperatures are rare in this region. In April, you can typically expect average temperatures to range between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.

The standard voltage used in Korea is 220V. A power plug adapter is required if you use different plugs and sockets in your country of residence. Participants are advised to check with the hotel in advance, as most hotels can offer outlet converters for 110V and 220V.
